Getting to Know You Lesson

This is a lesson I've adopted and modified from my professor in my Art's Methods class. It is a good lesson to use to get to know your students or have them get to know one another. The lesson is based off the book The Best Part of Me by Wendy Ewald. 

 

1.    Lesson Goal(s)/Objective(s): 2^nd grade students will apply their reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills by listening to the story “The Best Part of Me” and responding by completing a “Yes, That’s Me” poem individually that contains complete sentences and fully completed prompts.

2.    Wisconsin Common Core Standards:

·         W.2.2 – Write informative/explanatory texts in which they introduce a topic, use facts and definitions to develop points, and provide a concluding statement or section
